FAMILY FAVORITE BEEF STEW

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb beef stew meat cut into 3/4 inch cubes
  • 2 tbs all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tbs black pepper
  • 1 tbs oil
  • 1 lb red potatoes, small quartered
  • 1 1/2 cups pearl onions ( 16 oz pkg )
  • 12 oz beef gravey 1 jar
  • 1 can diced tomatoes undrained, diced
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 lb baby carrots 1 bag

Instructions

  • On waxed paper, sprinkle beef with 2 tbs flour, salt, and pepper; toss to coat. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add coated beef; cook and stir 4 to 5 minutes or until browned, stirring occasionally.
  • In 4 to 6 quart slow cooker, layer potatoes, onion and carrots. Add browned beef; sprinkl with any remaining flour mixture. Top with gravy and tomatoes.
  • Cook; cook on low settting for 8 to 10 hours. Before serving, blend 3 tbs flour with 1/4 cup cold water, Stir into stew. Cook on HIGH, covered, 10 minutes or until thickened. 6 ( 1 2/3 cup ) servings
