Simple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool, then pour into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid. Simple syrup will keep, refrigerated, for about one month.

Notes

If you can boil water, you can make simple syrup. The staple cocktail sweetener more than earns its name, consisting, simply, of equal-parts granulated sugar and water. From there, the variations are endless.
