
BASIC ROLL DOUGH
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 pkg dry yeast
- 1 egg Slightly beaten
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour and yeast, mix well. Heat milk, salt, sugar, shortening, just until warm 115* - 120*. Stir, constantly until sugar is disolved and shortning is melted.blend in the egg.
- Add, to Dry Mix
- Beat on slow until mixed in well, then beat on high for 3 minutes. Let set for 3 minutes, before adding remainder of flour.
- Shape into ball.
- Lightly grease bowl turn rolls over. Cover and let stand until doubled in size about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
- Shape and place into pans. Let raise for 1 1/2 hrs.
- Bake at 400*F. for 10 to 12 minutes.
