
HOMEMADE BISQUICK MIX
Ingredients
BISQUICK MIX
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tbs baking powder
- 1 tbs salt
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
Skillet Drop Biscuits
- 4 cups Bisquick/baking mix homemade
- 1 1/3 cups milk
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbs butter
Instructions
BISQUICK MIX
- Sift flour, baking powder, and salt three times into a large bowl.
- Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
- Store mixture in airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 months.
- Use whenever your recipe calls for "Bisquick mix".
Skillet Drop Biscuits
- Prep Time: 5 Mins
- Bake Time: 30 Mins
- Yield: Makes 1 dozen
- Whisk together milk and mayonnaise until smooth. Stir milk mixture into flour just until blended.
- Butter a 10-inch cast-iron skillet; place in a 425° oven for 3 minutes.
- Remove skillet from oven; drop batter by rounded 1/4 cupfuls into hot skillet, dropping 8 around edge and 4 in center. (Biscuits will touch.)
- Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
