HOMEMADE BISQUICK MIX

Ingredients
  

BISQUICK MIX

  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbs baking powder
  • 1 tbs salt
  • 1 cup vegetable shortening

Skillet Drop Biscuits

  • 4 cups Bisquick/baking mix homemade
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbs butter

Instructions
 

BISQUICK MIX

  • Sift flour, baking powder, and salt three times into a large bowl.
  • Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  • Store mixture in airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 months.
  • Use whenever your recipe calls for "Bisquick mix".

Skillet Drop Biscuits

  • Prep Time: 5 Mins
  • Bake Time: 30 Mins
  • Yield: Makes 1 dozen
  • Whisk together milk and mayonnaise until smooth. Stir milk mixture into flour just until blended.
  • Butter a 10-inch cast-iron skillet; place in a 425° oven for 3 minutes.
  • Remove skillet from oven; drop batter by rounded 1/4 cupfuls into hot skillet, dropping 8 around edge and 4 in center. (Biscuits will touch.)
  • Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
